Italian owners Omar and Mario, and head chef Samil, from Hong Kong, welcome you to Bistro 21
Did you know that Bistros were originally developed out of the basement kitchens of Parisian apartments? What makes a bistro unique is that they are defined by the food they serve. The menu is typically simple and not tied down to a specific cultural cuisine.
Well, we've taken the idea of a Bistro to new places.
Our menu is inspired by international flavours. Mario brings his thirty plus years of experience gained as a Chef in leading restaurants and five star hotels in Italy, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Philippines, France and Australia. Omar has managed restaurants in Italy, Switzerland, France, Ireland and Australia. And our talented head chef Samil hails from Hong Kong.
At Bistro 21 we keep the ingredients simple, fresh and delicious, but we push the boundaries with how these ingredients are combined to create unique, and beautiful, food.
We've been told our coffee is pretty great too!
Our South Beach location means it's pretty easy to stay true to the relaxed bistro style dining vibe. We've recently built an awesome covered alfresco area to keep the "Freo Doctor" at bay in the afternoon too. And given that we're right next to the dog beach, of course we're dog friendly (check out #dogsofbistro21).
